Cruel Harvest by Fran Elizabeth Grubb.

A very personal and raw look at the author's childhood, Frances Grubb lived a life very similar to mine. As her story unfolded page after page, I had several memories of my childhood filled with horrors to resurface. It was hard to read, and yet I could not put the book down. She was abused in every way possible by the one man who should have loved her unconditionally, her daddy. The entire family endured his explosive anger just until they could get away.

Frances Grubb tells her story but allows the will of her Lord to show throughout the story. Her writing style is very easy to read and she gave enough detail for the reader to feel her pain, all
the while not blaming her father, but recognizing his inability to love. The book begins in present day so I found an assurance in knowing that she would escape her father's domineering and hateful anger in the end.

While her life story is one of pain, she found her way out and triumphed by allowing forgiveness to win in the end.

I noticed toward the end of the book she left a few stories unexplored, leading me to think that she may have more to share in a book in the future. I would love to read more about her experiences.

Cruel Harvest, A Memoir by Fran Elizabeth Grubbs is published by Thomas Nelson and was provided free to me in exchange for an honest review. The "booksneeze" books for bloggers program is the name. Cruel Harvest is a book I would recommend and I give it 4 stars.
